Christmas Parties Inside YDF
Sharing Hope, Joy, and the Love of Jesus with Every Unit
This December, Modern Abolition is bringing Christmas inside Sacramento County’s Youth Detention Facility. And for many of these young people, these celebrations mean more than you can imagine.
When we first stepped into the Chaplaincy program this summer, one of the very first questions the youth asked was:
“Are we doing Christmas parties this year?”
The answer is YES — and they’re already looking forward to it.
For many youth inside YDF, Christmas is not an easy season. Separation from family, painful memories, and the weight of their circumstances often make the holidays feel lonely. These Christmas parties create something powerful:
moments where they are seen, valued, and loved, and where the hope of Jesus shines in a place that needs it most.
How You Can Support
We need your help to Share His Love this Christmas
We’re gearing up for:
- 10 Christmas Parties
- Cocoa & Christmas Movies (popcorn, cocoa, and holiday classics for every unit)
- Unit Decorating Contest (Top 3 units win prizes!)
And we need your help to make it happen.
Goal: $3,300
- $3,000 — parties, gifts, supplies, games, and the Cocoa & Christmas Movies experience
- $300 — prizes for the Unit Decorating Contest
Your Impact:
$1 → popcorn + hot cocoa for one youth
$20 → sponsors Christmas party for 2 youth
$100 → one prize for the decorating contest
$250 → sponsors an entire Christmas party
Every dollar brings joy where it’s needed most.
